Giving Back

Giving Back

Philanthropy is at the heart of who we are at ACI. The products we make may save energy and improve overall building conditions, but we continue to define ourselves by the difference we make in our community.

ACI embraces the concept of giving back. We have established meaningful partnerships with local businesses and charitable organizations to volunteer our time and raise money for those in need. ACI is a proud supporter of the Second-Harvest Food Bank, Reach-A-Child, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, UW Carbone Cancer Center, and many more. Many of these partnerships allow ACI’s employees to gather and raise charitable donations for those in need. As an example, ACI hosts an annual golf event to benefit a charitable organization. It includes entertaining fundraising opportunities throughout the golf course and is followed by dinner, prize raffle, and a silent auction of items donated by our vendors. We are committed to the concept of giving back and supporting many charitable organizations.

Schwenn Family Professorship

ACI’s most notable philanthropic efforts have come through our partnership with the UW-Madison Carbone Cancer Center. Inspired by our owner, Troy Schwenn, and his late wife Mindy’s courageous battle with cancer, ACI established the ACI & Schwenn Family Professorship in 2015.

The Professorship committed $500,000 in donations by 2020 for research funds; furthermore, a donor committed to match each dollar raised totaling $1,000,000. While our fundraising goal was met in 2020, the Professorship continues to live on. The funds continue to be applied directly to the ongoing research that will hopefully someday find a cure to this dreaded disease. This achievement was possible because of the generous efforts and donations made by ACI’s employees, friends, family, customers, and vendors that came together to support this amazing cause. Click here to watch and read more about that heartfelt journey. After achieving our fundraising goal for the ACI & Schwenn Family Professorship and the UW-Madison Carbone Cancer Center, ACI has turned its focus to the future. In the summer of 2021, ACI started a new approach to Giving Back by asking employees for their feedback. Each employee was asked to complete a survey to select (or suggest) a local beneficiary from a list of esteemed charitable organizations. ACI continues to be committed to engaging our employees in the mission of selecting and supporting new beneficiaries. With their collaboration, we know the best is yet to come. By building a solid foundation of philanthropy, ACI continues to champion the concept of looking past our own needs to better those in need. As both a thriving business and community leader, ACI continues to raise the bar for how good business is done.
