The opportunity to meet and network in person – is priceless
It is always nice to meet face to face with our customers, prospects and vendors. Thank you to the AHR Expo attendees who stopped by the ACI booth. We had insightful conversations with you and look forward to continuing them throughout 2020.
Our hard-working staff brought back numerous stories about their time at the AHR Expo. Here’s some of the highlights that we wanted to share with you.
Discussions at the ACI Booth
Attendees often shared their stories from the field with ACI booth staffers. Many of the discussions focused around their product application needs.
“We saw more attendees stop by the ACI booth than ever before to discuss HVAC product application needs and projects, said Mya Holzemer, a National Sales Engineer for ACI.
Bill Kubsh, ACI’s Vice President of Product Development, had a couple of discussion examples to share.
An attendee explained that he had used competitor BACnet™ devices that had issues coming back on-line after a power outage.
“We discussed his challenges and I explained that ACI’s BACnet sensors did not need power to the device in order to set the address because we use physical dip switches to set baud rates and addresses in our BACnet sensors,” said Bill. “This ensures that the device will automatically find the correct communication settings to reset in the event of a power outage. The attendee smiled as he was happy to learn of the simple and straight-forward methods used to configure ACI devices.”
We also heard from several attendees as they discussed their challenge of finding a suitable low current switch for a variety of low current draw motor application. “ACI agrees that this is an industry challenge. We’re in the market to solve challenges!” said Bill.
We also heard heart-warming stories about how HVAC businesses are growing and thriving!
Barry Gordon, ACI’s Senior National Sales Engineer, met with many business owners both large and small. But Barry said that his favorite discussion at AHR Expo was with an east coast, HVAC business owner who started his business at the age of 21. Many years and five kids later, his business is going strong. We at ACI applaud his entrepreneurial spirit!
What’s New at ACI?
All of our booth staffers reported that the most frequently asked question heard at the booth was, “What’s new at ACI?”
DJ Denton has worked at ACI since 2008, but this was his first AHR Expo as a Sales Engineer. DJ said that the ACI booth was busy and staff demonstrated products newer to the ACI line-up including:
- Temperature and Humidity BACnet™ Sensors
- Current Sensors for Variable Frequency Drives
- Low-Temperature Cutout Freeze Stats Thermostat
“It was nice to put faces to names. I had a chance to meet with some of our OEM customers and visit their booths as well,” said DJ.
ACI Wins Peripheral Vendor of the Year Award from ControlTrends
The evening before the start of AHR Expo, several of our ACI staff attended the ControlTrends Award Ceremony held at B.B. King’s Blues Club in Orlando, Florida.
It was here that ACI was honored to win the ControlTrends 2019 Peripheral Vendor of the Year Award.
“Thank you to everyone who helped to make this a reality,” said Connor Meloy, COO at ACI. “Also, congratulations to all of the award winners and nominees. This is an exciting time to be a part of the HVAC and building automation industry.”
